4th ANNUAL HILLCREST HONORS

Hillcrest Honors was created with one simple purpose: to give flowers to the people, businesses, organizations and community leaders who make Hillcrest extraordinary.

Since its launch in 2023, Hillcrest Honors has grown from a celebration born on the @HillcrestSanDiego Instagram account into an annual tradition recognizing the people and places whose creativity, service, advocacy, leadership and heart help shape our community.

From longtime neighborhood icons and LGBTQ+ trailblazers to small businesses, nightlife professionals, artists, activists, volunteers and the next generation of community leaders, Hillcrest Honors celebrates impact in all its forms.

Created by Rick Cervantes and Benny Cartwright, the Honors is rooted in something Hillcrest has always done best: showing up for one another. Nearly 300 honorees have been recognized since 2023, each representing a piece of the story that makes this neighborhood so special.

On Monday, November 16, we come together for the 4th Annual Hillcrest Honors — not simply to hand out awards, but to celebrate community, preserve our history and recognize the people helping write its next chapter.

Because behind every honor is a story. And behind every story is someone who makes Hillcrest, Hillcrest.
